Yesterday my phone went down to 20% battery. The numbers indicating this actually turned red, from the original green state.
Ran 16km today at the track. That means 40 rounds. Along the way, there was M ok, Z heng H ong, M elvin and J ustina. Took 1.5 hours altogether, wasn't that bad.
The pastor has hit the news. His apology doesn't seem sincere given his demeanor in the video; its like he's just trying to escape the consequences. 8000+ forum replies on hardwarezone is amazing. Why bother with it all anyway.
Arrived at the Alumni House at NUS at 7am to help usher people. Didn't realize that medical education is actually such a huge thing.
I think we must have gorged ourselves with food at the conference. Went for the Gala Night of OT3. It was spectacular. It was an improvement from OT2... the plot was far less draggy and the songs were good.
And that was the end of a 7am-11pm day.

S andy: Actually Buddhism and Hinduism aren't religions in the strict sense of the word. They are more philosophies than religions. I agree that fanaticism applies to almost all belief systems. But it varies in intensity, due to the varied teachings of each belief system.
Stumbled upon this on Facebook. Bluntly put, the pastor from that church should learn to be more polite and get his "facts" right. I have to put in a few words on this.
I have nothing against free choice. The problem comes when free choice isn't perceived as free. Its just perceived as the wrong choice.
In the past couple of days a few students were giving out flyers at the Science area and the canteen. I recall the following lines I read from "The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism" by Timothy Keller:
What if, however, the essence of Christianity is salvation by grace, salvation not because of what we do but because of what Christ has done for us? Belief that you are accepted by God by sheer grace is profoundly humbling. The people who are fanatics, then, are so not because they are too committed to the gospel but because they're not committed to it enough.
Think of people you consider fanatical. They're overbearing, self-righteous, opinionated, insensitive and harsh. Why? It's not because they are too Christian but because they are not Christian enough. They are fanatically zealous and courageous, but they are not fanatically humble, sensitive, loving, empathetic, forgiving or understanding - as Christ was. Because they think of Christianity as a self-improvement programme they emulate the Jesus of the whips in the temple, but not the Jesus who said, "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" (John 8:7). What strikes us as overly fanatical is actually a failure to be fully committed to Christ and his gospel.
I read books to get my "facts" right. Not everyone is fanatical, thankfully. It would destroy the very fabric of our nation - a multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religious society. John Stuart Mill would be turning in his grave.
Took some M2s today... was pretty fun. While I was kinda rusty, I hope I managed to teach them some useful stuff I picked up in the wards. Its always nice to have someone to guide you through because right at the start everyone's so fumbly. Its one thing reading a textbook and another actually trying to get the steps correct (and with finesse).
My brother came to me complaining (seldom happens) that he could feel his pulse bounding in his left arm and he can feel his heart beating. Ddx?
Today I didn't realize my tutorial was in the morning. I thought it was at 2pm. I actually decided to go to school early to attempt to get some studying done. On the bus, I bumped into Y oumin and D aniel who enlightened me that the tutorial was actually at 9am. With the tutorial undone and my brain still sleepy, I looked through it in a foolish attempt to salvage the situation. In the tutorial, managed to smoke something out when it was my turn to answer. Survived the tutorial. Gosh, what was I thinking.
Lunch was like a council lunch + F red. Was pretty enjoyable. I think the ayam pangang stall is unhealthy, but the food is delicious. I hope my renewed interest in running balances things out. Did 16km today after getting home. I ate a Mcdonald's meal yesterday. I love McDonald's. Have I said this before? It makes me happy. Evokes pleasant childhood / Secondary 1 memories.
Reading through the Written Report now. My part's over but can't help but want to see what the report is like. I'm making many suggestions to the written report team. I love words.
Last weekend was CHP-filled. This weekend is free-er in comparison. The past week was extremely busy. CHP, Med-Law, CHP, CHP, CHP and CHP. I think practicing the presentation 7 times was worth it. It was stressful when things didn't fall in place, and I think the biggest challenge / most fun part was to work with so many different personalities. It couldn't have been possible without the help of everyone. I am thankful for each and every one of you.
Ran 7km this morning. Went to RI to play soccer today, the first time in months. Boy was it fun. :)
Med-Law
Final CHP Rehearsal on Thursday Night. Ended at 9+pm.
